Welcome to the Fleet Management Division of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The primary function of our division is to give direct support as requested by the Sheriff and to provide and maintain the vehicles and equipment needed by the various divisions of the Sheriff’s Office to perform their duties. The division is specifically structured to provide a high quality, economically based maintenance program specifically designed for law enforcement. We constantly do testing and evaluation on emergency equipment, lighting, cameras systems and radios to the betterment of the Sheriff’s Office.

The Fleet and Radio Management Facility consists of a five bay full service garage for cars, light trucks, boat, atv’s and medium duty Community service units, a radio repair room, parts storehouses, and office. Fleet Management maintains records on all vehicles, provides full upfitting services, provides all towing services for drug seizers, evidence vehicles, departmental vehicles, and issues pool and loaner vehicles, provides the bid specs, aids in the purchasing and disposal of vehicles and equipment, and perform service work on all equipment. In addition we provide these services for 911, solid waste, and property assessor offices.

The communications division in 2006 has completed two 1St District Homeland Security projects, the first being a 300 foot communication tower to improve radio coverage for public safety agencies in Washington, Grenne, and Hawkins counties, the second being a District CBRN Communication and command trailer for interoperable communications between the eight counties in the district.
